We’re excited to share news of events, new games, and more with you!
- Recap: GAMA Expo 2026
Our first year at the GAMA Expo was fantastic! The team enjoyed attending educational seminars, networking with prospective partners, and chatting with everyone at our booth! (We brought about 100 retailer packets with us and left with about 25!) We answered lots of great questions about our games and the CLGS — and we also met a fair number of people who had already heard about CMich Press! From the moment we set up until we packed up for home, we were busy!
We were grateful for assistance transporting everything and covering the booth from our friends at the CMU College of Business Administration and Modern Explorers Guild in Midland. We’d also like to send out a special thank-you to All Access Signs, CMU Printing Services, and CBA again for their help producing materials like banners, retailer packets, catalogs, and more that helped us look our best at the Expo.
Thanks to YOU for keeping up with our adventure on social media! Click below to watch a quick behind the scenes video of life at our booth!

- The Blue Way
We have exciting news! The prelaunch page for our next game, Jason Morningstar’s The Blue Way, is now LIVE! The Blue Way is a bleak, gritty fantasy tabletop storytelling game about forced assimilation and lost stories. We are excited to bring this game to you in a new form, featuring art by Samuel Araya! Follow the prelaunch page HERE for more updates coming soon! Crowdfunding will start in early June!
- CMich Press Game Events
We always love hearing about the impact of CMich Press games in the wild! In this newsletter, we want to spotlight a few groups who have used our games as the basis for community events. Through The Dealt Hand (Des Moines, IA), a group has been playing Five Hundred Year Old Vampire for the past few months. Meanwhile, Tabletop Strategist (Oviedo, FL) is arranging an upcoming playthrough of Eyeball to Eyeball: The Cuban Missle Crisis next month!
If you or a store you know is hosting any events which feature CMich Press games, feel free to send photos and/or a recap and we will happily share them!
- Eyeball to Eyeball Update
Ray Kimball, one of the co-creators of Eyeball to Eyeball: The Cuban Missile Crisis, recently sent us a message to share regarding the development and use of Experiental Simulation (ExpSim):
“Eyeball to Eyeball (E2E) Community, thank you so much for your support of this game! It’s been wonderful seeing feedback from so many people on how they’ve put the published version to use.
That published version was supposed to be accompanied by a spiffy new version of the Experiential Simulation (ExpSim) platform. Among other things, the new platform would have allowed for multiple classrooms to use the game simultaneously, and also given GMs the ability to download all of the message traffic between players. Unfortunately, development of that final version has stalled due to circumstances outside our control. We are currently hunting for a new platform to host ExpSim and deliver the functionality you deserve, and hope to have further news on that front soon.
In the interim, the pre-production version of ExpSim remains available for use. There are a few things to be aware of:
1) The “Download Messages” button on the Admin Panel does not work.
2) The “1962” function that previously allowed GMs to switch between user profiles is no longer working. Instead, you can just use the link for the different user profiles to go to them directly.
3) The server reset bug that resets the game back to the starting defaults after 24 hours still exists. We have created some workarounds for it and can assist you with managing that headache.
Because we are not delivering the full product we promised, we are lowering the per use cost of ExpSim from $40 to $15 until we get the full platform online. Unfortunately, the retail site that is set up for ExpSim doesn’t reflect this new wording, and we can’t change it (because of developer issues). If you received free ExpSim access as part of the crowdfundingcampaign for this game, you will not pay for use of the system. To get access to the system, contact Ray Kimball at ray@42ed.games or at https://42ed.games/contact-us/ with the dates and times you want to use it.
Thanks again for your patience and your support of E2E!
Ray Kimball, co-author.”
- Recap: Lovecraft Game Night
We had a fantastic time at our February Break Our Games event with its special Lovecraft theming! Students and staff enjoyed the keynote speech by Professor Bill Wandless, Jr., and then the crowd flowed into the main space to play both Lovecraft-themed and CMich Press games! Thanks to the CMU Libraries for their assistance hosting this event!
Enjoy a selection of photos below from the fun night.
