January blew past in a veritable snowstorm of activity! To get you caught up, here are our top 5 highlights looking back — and forward!
1. Recap: Winter Wine and Games Night
Our event with Brengman Family Wines was fantastic! We had a great turnout — thank you to our wonderful partners and to everyone who attended, especially those of you who traveled far! Click here to view a reel of highlights from the night.
 2. Lovecraft Game Night at the Library
This month, our usual Break Our Games playtesting night will take on a terrifying new form! In collaboration with CMU Libraries, we are hosting a special event at the Park Library where participants will be able to play Lovecraft-themed games as well as games in development at CMich Press. Dr. William Wandless, Jr., a member of the CLGS, will be joining us to give a presentation on how H.P. Lovecraft’s original works have been adapted for modern audiences. We can’t wait!
3. National Writers Series Collaboration
We have been invited to virtually speak to a class for middle to high-school writers in Traverse City which focuses on creating role playing game content! The course is called “Here Be Dragons: Hiding Stories in Stories” and it is taught through the National Writers Series, a Traverse City nonprofit. (If you know any young writers, registration is open until the week before class starts on March 18th!) Watch for more updates!
4. Keep the Faith
We are delighted to report that Keep the Faith has arrived in warehouses! We are moving towards shipping it out to our Backers soon! It is currently available for pre-order on our website at this link.
5. GAMA!!!
Perhaps the BIGGEST thing going on in the Dungeon right now is preparation for the Game Manufacturers Association (GAMA) Expo! The entire regular CLGS staff will be attending this trade show for the first time to network with retailers. Before we can get there, however, we have to print, plan, and pack! The countdown is on!
Those are the highlights — for now! As always, feel free to message us with questions or thoughts. Have a wonderful rest of your month!
