Commonality is a card-driven semi-cooperative game about navigating systemic inequality. Players take on the roles of members in a society where some identity traits are privileged and others are marginalized.

Your “Avatar” — the collection of identity traits assigned to you — will have varying levels of privilege based on the norms of the game’s society. Some traits may give you an advantage, while others may face systemic obstacles. Throughout the game, you will need to manage your personal resilience, adapt to shifting social events, and decide whether your Avatar will focus on personal success or working toward a more equitable system for everyone.
