1. Recap: Last “BOG” of the season!

Last Friday, we wrapped up our spring season of Break Our Games events. We were delighted to host a fleet of student games as well as guest designer Jason Hitsman with his game CLASH! (For more information, ask him at CLASH_opRPG@gmail.com or look up his game at https://clash-oprpg.itch.io/clash-the-opposed-roll-skill-based-rpg!)

Our next BOG night will be in downtown Midland at the Modern Explorers Guild on June 12th from 5-7 PM. See you there!

2. The CMU Museum exhibit is OPEN!

As of March 28th, the student-led exhibit, “Magic Circles: Society through Game Spaces,” is officially open to the public! This collaboration between the CLGS and the CMU Museum features the work of Game Design Thinking and Museum Studies students and recent alumni. (And we are so proud!) Come visit at the CMU Museum in Rowe Hall to celebrate the amazing games and displays!

3. Update: Art & System

Things are moving along in the production of our inaugural Art & System games! We are excited to share with you the proofs for Princess with a Cursed Sword and Dog Eat Dog. Both are currently in production, with The Mountain Witch close behind! We are expecting the first two sometime around Quarter 3, which will be this summer/early fall.

4. Exciting updates for The Blue Way

Mark your calendars for June 16th, our official launch date for this exciting crowdfunding campaign on BackerKit! You can follow the prelaunch page now by clicking here.

We will also be doing our first cross collaboration campaign! Chancers by Jaunty Goblin Games will be crowdfunding at the same time as The Blue Way in June. If you back both projects, you will get a special reward! Follow the prelaunch page for Chancers here.

5. NEW game coming this October!

The amazing games just keep rolling in! We are thrilled to bring Line By Line, a cozy, collaborative poetry-writing game, to CMich Press. We will be crowdfunding this project in October 2026. If you want a sneak peek, you can follow its prelaunch page here!

6. Shoutout to our retail partners!

We’d like to take a moment to recognize the stores who carry our games and say THANK YOU for helping our games find their perfect audiences. Check out the store(s) closest to you!

We can’t wait to share more updates with you next month! As always, feel free to email us at cmichpress@cmich.edu with any questions and comments!
