Labels and art created by: Samantha Krayniak
Central Michigan University Press asked one of the recent graduates from the Museum Studies minor, Samantha Krayniak, to put together a special project inspired by themes in CMich Press’s new game, The Blue Way. Sam created an enlightening three-panel digital exhibit explaining colonization and decolonization within museum practices, something that is tightly tied to the creation of known stories and “lost stories” throughout history. As you will see, she illustrates her points with a collection of fictional labels based on items mentioned in the game. We hope that this provides a useful educational or world-building tool for players seeking a deeper dive into the themes of The Blue Way. Enjoy!

*Below, drag the center dividing mark from left to right to read (and reveal) two panels describing the changing methods used by museums to showcase artifacts.*
