We have so much to share with you – pull up a chair, let’s catch up!

1. Line by Line Update
We are still in the midst of our Line by Line crowdfunding campaign – and thanks to supporters like you, we have made it past the halfway mark!
We have had a blast bringing Line by Line to local bookstores, coffee shops, and even campus to play this charming, gentle poetry-writing game with folks. It has been marvelous to see the results of people dipping their toes into poetry and having a ball along the way! Most recently, we had a fantastic time showing the game to attendees at the CMU Museum’s Frankenstein Friday event!
Our campaign lasts until November 17th, so there is still time to check out the crowdfunding page! Follow it here!
2. Community Shoutouts
We want to highlight two awesome things currently going on that involve some of our friends and supporters in the game world! First, this weekend in Peotone, IL, you can attend LodgeCon – which is a game convention and craft show – for FREE thanks to the generosity of By the Board Games and Entertainment. Second, our friend Moe Poplar from Ashyfeet Games just launched Fabulous Freemen, an awesome game which places players directly inside thrilling stories of Black historical figures like Zora Neale Hurston, Bill ‘Bojangles’ Robinson, and Madam C. J. Walker. Check it out on Kickstarter!

3. International Games Month
We are excited that Central Michigan University Press is once again a sponsor for International Games Month, an initiative by the American Library Association to highlight the way that games at libraries can create community! The coupon codes we donated for library use have been sent to over 300 libraries as of today, so we are excited that more CMich Press games will find their way to new homes and players!
We will be celebrating International Games Month on campus in partnership with the CMU Libraries by hosting an open Game Night at the Library this Friday! From 3-7 PM, members of the campus and general community are invited to join us at the Park Library (Room 211 and the Copeland Suite) to play games from the LIbrary’s collection. We will have guided sessions of Wingspan and Pandemic, and Line by Line will also be available to play! We also expect student game projects that will need playtesters, so the more the merrier! All are welcome!
4. Campus Partnerships
We are excited to highlight some awesome partnerships on campus! First, CMich Press is once again acting as the test ‘client’ for Kurt Baringer’s E-Commerce and Digital Strategy course! A few times a month, the class meets with a representative from CMich Press to learn more about its mission, products, strategy, and online presence to pitch ideas for improvement based on their lessons — and the learning goes both ways! Second, a group of dedicated students in the Ad Club on campus have ALSO adopted CMich Press as a case study to develop content for online use. We love being a real-world game publisher that can help give CMU students more experience to add to their resume. Stay tuned for more!
